Deshaun Watson, the quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, suffered a ruptured Achilles injury on Monday, and the organization announced that Watson is out for the season.
In the second quarter of the Cincinnati Bengals game, Watson was helped off the field. His right leg seemed to give way as he was running a quarterback draw, and he fell to the ground.
Before the cart was brought out in Cleveland, Watson was on the field for a short while. Dorian Thompson-Robinson took over for him.

Watson has had a very difficult season. When the game started on Sunday, his quarterback rating was the lowest of all QBs. Among all players who have played in at least six games, he has the second-worst passer rating and is ranked second to last in projected points contributed.
The Browns’ passing offense had taken more sacks than any other team going into Sunday, ranking last in terms of yards per game and yards per attempt.
Watson’s availability to the Browns has been a problem. Only six games were played in the previous season and the year prior due to his 11-week suspension following 22 women’s lawsuits accusing him of sexual assault and other misbehavior.
Before Week 7, Watson had completed six games with 1,020 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions through the air. On Sunday, he finished with 15 of 17 throws for 128 yards before leaving the game.
Following the deal for Watson in March 2022, Cleveland signed him to a contract worth $230 million over five years. His contract has a no-trade clause and is completely guaranteed.
The Browns would still owe him $92 million even if they released him at the end of this season.
