In Double iSmart, Ram Pothineni’s character iSmart Shankar gives the audience a succinct summary of the entire narrative. “Two minds, one body,” explains Ram, who portrays the part with a great deal of style and flair. A spiritual follow-up to Puri Jagannath’s iSmart Shankar (2019), the action-packed sci-fi entertainer brings the cast together for another thrilling show.
Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt makes his Telugu film debut with this movie, and he does a fantastic job in the part. This movie is a pleasure to see because of Ram Pothineni and Sanjay Dutt. Ram is vivacious and nimble in the lead, and his dancing moves and action scenes are excellent.
Now let’s move on to the plot. In order to establish a market for narcotics and weapons, Big Bull (Sanjay Dutt), who leads a worldwide drug cartel out of Argentina, intends to start a civil war in India in order to disturb the calm. Unexpectedly, he is diagnosed with glioma (a brain tumor), despite his belief that India is the safest place on earth for all types of crimes and that he will kill anyone who gets in the way of his goals. He wants to live longer and will do whatever it takes to attain his goal of seeing his mission completed. Working with Dr. Thomas (Makarand Deshpande), who has been experimenting with “memory transfers” from one human to another, his aide Bently (Bani J) comes up with a solution. It goes without saying that Bently selects and completes iSmart Shankar for this task.
The main character, Shankar, is a thug from Hyderabad’s Charminar neighborhood who was left an orphan at an early age after Big Bull killed Shankar’s mother in a fit of wrath. Since then, Shankar has promised retribution and is awaiting the ideal moment.
The rest of the plot revolves around whether Shankar loses his memory of the past, whether Big Bull uses him to ruin the country, or whether the hero confronts Big Bull. His lover Jannath (Kavya Thapar), who arrives in Hyderabad from Delhi on a mission, provides support to Shankar. Puri Jagannath wrote and directed the movie, and there is never a dull moment. However, he could have avoided a cheap and cheesy comedy track with a seasoned performer like Ali. Sayaji Shinde, a seasoned actor who plays the RAW head, is determined to kill Big Bull alive, which is odd because his strongest performance borders on humor.
One of the film’s good qualities is the BGM by composer Mani Sharma, and the soundtrack features two upbeat songs. Double iSmart is a commercial package that combines strong entertainment, motherly sentiment, high-intensity action, and mass appeal. This multilingual, pan-Indian picture hits the appropriate notes and appeals to a wide audience.
